Perform Database design, maintenance, technical support, installation and upgrades ? Created models for new database development and changes to existing ones ? Daily database operational tasks that include configurations, performance, backup, recovery, disaster recovery scenarios and managed data in a secured, reliable and highly available system environment ? Monitor databases, provide 24/7 database support, ensure high levels of system availability, follow escalation procedures to report to business users and management ? Work with application development staff to create database architectures, coding standards and quality assurance policies and procedures ? Install and configure relevant network components to ensure database access as well as database consistency and integrity ? Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues ? Monitor details within the database including stored procedures and execution time and implemented efficiency improvements ? Progress Database Upgrade Project from Progress V9.1D to Open Edge 10.2A ? Plan & maintain procedures, backup and recovery strategies, and operational documentation ? Write sql queries to reconcile legacy data with progress 10.1C data ? Perform all levels of testing, including unit, integration, system and user acceptance testing to ensure that application will perform error free and according to business specifications when promoted to production Others: ? Ability to work in a stressful environment in a 27/7 on call business model ? Respond to Severity issues in a timely manner ? Join/initiate bridge calls relevant to Progress DBA production issues. ? Ability to drive the calls to closure. ? Ability to firm up Root cause analysis for all production impacting issues. ?
