DEPARTMENTAL OVERVIEW Product Control IT supports a diverse range of applications and technologies to support the entities and products processed by the business. Currently, the department is developing dashboard, reporting and analytics functionality using Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI), and it is expected that the use of this tool will become widespread over the next few years. Over time, OBI will act as the primary user interface for financial functions within the department, being rolled out to over 1,000 Product and Financial Control users globally. Specifically, this role is to be a member of a new PCIT team set up to support and significantly enhance the initial implementation of OBI. MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE: The position is for an Oracle Business Intelligence Designer and Developer based in Raleigh-Durham. The main responsibility is to provide design services, development and production support for any projects or enhancements on the OBI platform. Design Activities Design activities undertaken will match the needs of the individual project or set of enhancements being requested. Over time, these will include: Understand and translate business requirements into report and dashboard GUI designs, possibly including creation of requirements prototypes and agreeing design with nominated business users Identifying appropriate OBI features to use for a given business requirement, eg alerts, scheduled reports OBI repository and web catalog design Semantic layer design KPI notifications design Extending local OBI design standards to meet new design challenges Identifying user security issues and designing appropriate solutions to them Responsibility for data warehouse design does not fall within the scope of this role, however it is a desirable skill.
