Job Position : Audio Video / DSP Subsystem Software Engineer Location : Troy, MI Duration : 18 + months Primary Responsibilities The AV DSP software engineer filling the position will perform software tasks throughout the entire software lifecycle – planning, requirements, design, coding, testing, and defect resolution. The engineer will work with a global software team to develop reusable software components for multiple products and interface with suppliers and customers. Required Skills Detailed understanding of theoretical and practical design aspects of digital filtering (standard, adaptive, multi-band), signal level detection, signal quality measurement, FFT’s, modulation and de-modulation, multi-rate processing, PLL, sample-rate conversion, control loops and audio compression. Detailed understanding of signal and function characteristics such as SNR, THD, SINAD, frequency response, dynamic range, and IMD Design of DSP functions and audio signal routing into embedded RTOS-based multi-threaded software systems Coding of signal processing algorithms on DSP processors and on micros, in assembly and high-level languages; experience in using MatLab and Matlab toolboxes Experience working with hardware DSP signal transport busses and hardware control busses Working knowledge of Linux and/or QNX operating system; 5 + years of experience in real-time embedded C software applications or equivalent.
