Senior DB Developer
Job Description:
Senior DB developer will be a member of a team that is responsible for development of a large, multi-tier web application based on J2EE framework, Oracle DB, and Microsoft .Net BizTalk. The candidate will be responsible for performing hands on design and implementation of components for manipulating DB content using SQL or other scripting techniques. Other tasks expected of this role are: generation of design documents, investigation of field problems, development/execution of unit tests, and guidance of junior level developers. The candidate will operate in a large, complex team environment, interacting with members of various cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (CS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS) and/or equivalent technical degree
2. 6 -10 years of Information Technology experience in Relational Databases
3. Advance working knowledge of SQL , PL/SQL , DB Procedures
4. Advance working knowledge of Oracle DB tools
5. Advance knowledge of XML, CSV and spreadsheets
6. Working knowledge database replication, Virtual Private Database
7. Working knowledge of report generation tools and techniques
8. Working knowledge of data modeling
9. Working knowledge of ETL techniques
10. Working knowledge of scripting languages such as shell, Pearl
11. Hands on experience with data migration
12. In-depth knowledge of Full Life Cycle Application development including development methodologies
13. Ability to learn quickly, independently and apply the knowledge to the job
14. Comprehensive written and verbal communication, interpersonal, facilitation, presentation, quantitative, analytical, organizational, and follow-up skills
15. Ability to involve with multiple projects and interact with multiple teams
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Working knowledge of reporting tools such as SQL Server Reporting Service
2. Working knowledge Java and OO technologies
3. Working knowledge of SOA methods
4. Knowledge of FDA (or other regulatory agency) regulations, procedures, processes, policies
5. Experience with EHR systems including clinical and health related applications
Job Responsibilities:
Gain knowledge of the business domain
Analyze functional and non-functional requirements
Participate in architectural and design sessions
Develop database triggers, stored procedures, function, and packages using Oracle PL/SQL
Write complex SQL queries in Oracle and also using ANSI standard SQL
Perform code reviews with emphasis on reusability, performance optimization, and best practice
Complete specified software development tasks (design, coding, and testing) to meet specifications
Deliver timely and quality services that meet or exceed team managers and client expectations
Writes documentation to describe application functionality and/or technical design.
Communicate with end users to understand business problems or issues
Provide support for live systems
Perform assigned duties with no supervision and within scheduled timelines
Assist and train junior team members as needed
