Description:
Responsible for automating, building, releasing and configuring changes into the dev testing, QA and Staging environment as well as coordinating releasing of approved changes into Production environment. Provide process solutions for build/packaging and promotion, managing source code, such as parallel development efforts.
This is an Org wide responsibility and an excellent opportunity for growth for the right candidate.

* Perform regular software build and packaging activities and maintain multiple versions of packages in the distribution server.
*Coordinate build activities to ensure each system is documented
*Including all hardware components, OS versions, and application software versions.
*Work closely with core product teams to ensure high quality and timely delivery of builds.
*Perform periodic system audits on all environments to ensure that only controlled versions of software reside all environments.
*Identify new tools/technologies that will make the release and SCM process more efficient, repeatable, reliable, and cost effective.
*Good understanding of software configuration management processes.
*Customize source code and bug tracking tool to meet release process requirements
*Manage the source control repository in Subversion
*controlling and monitoring check-in's & create tags.
*Experience with source code management, makefiles, branching, and integrating software.
*Strong Scripting skills (PERL).
*Strong Automation skills with respect to Build Processes
*Experience of a configuration management tool such as Subversion and proficient in SCM techniques like branching, merging etc.,
*Experience in software engineering and SDLC methodologies, release engineering and configuration management using a mainstream SCM Tool. CVS experience would be beneficial.
*Manage all aspects of the software configuration management process including code compilation, packaging / deployment / release methodology, and application configuration
