MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
UNIX support professional with knowledge of shell, Perl and database programming.

Unix Administration skills

Duties: Migration of UNIX batch and application from one platform to another.
Maintain adequate communication with clients and IT management; act as liaison between development, project management and other support teams.
Plan migration activities; build software that is impacted due to changes in operating system. Ensure interfaces (ftp, connect direct, secure ftp connections) are maintained and tested as part of migration.
Migration of database heavy batch jobs from old infrastructure to another.
Escalate issues when required to ensure timely resolution.
Documentation of production applications and infrastructure.

Essential8+ years of IT experience.
Oracle Database development on UNIX platforms ( 2+ yrs)
Shell and Perl scripting (3+yrs)
Building Perl, Open source software (use of C/C++ compilers)
Working in networked environment (3+yrs)
Unix Administration skills (2+ yrs)
• Solaris administration
• Understanding of enterprise infrastructure
• UNIX/shell, ant scripting
• Strong Oracle database development skills - data modeling, stored procedures, triggers, etc.
• Proficient in XML
• CVS, Clear Case for Source Control
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, business writing skills
• Understanding of network administration concepts
• Familiarity with enterprise scheduling & oracle utilities and tools
• BS / BA in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, MIS or Mathematics
• Excellent communication skills

Desirable3+ years of application development experience in the financial/banking domain, on the Java, JSP, including data modelling.
Understanding of Business objects reporting
Remedy and ITIL Process.
Java Certification
