Title: High Availability IBM SAN Specialist
Location: Albany, NY
Duration: 2 years
Rate: $70/hr
Skills:
The Specialist III will assist client technical support staff in monitoring and maintaining existing Storage Area Network (SAN) consisting of IBM SAN equipment for High Availability. This SAN supports mission-critical applications running on IBM P-Series, Sun Solaris, Linux and Windows servers.

In addition the Specialist III will provide support for the installation, configuration and administration of new SAN hardware running at an off-site data center (within 5 miles of Albany) that will provide off-site high availability and disaster recovery.

Due to the critical nature of these services, the Specialist III will be required to assist client technical staff in 24x7 on-call coverage for production problem resolution.

Candidates must fill out the attached Experience Chart and References (3).

ONE CERTIFICATION BELOW IS REQUIRED

Minimum eight (8) years experience in administering and supporting IT systems.
Minimum of four (4) years experience in installing, configuring, performance tuning and troubleshooting Fiber Channel Storage Area Networks including SAN Directors and switches.
Minimum two (2) years experience implementing, administering and supporting IBM storage systems.
Minimum of one the following certifications (copy of certification required):
• IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert - System Storage
• IBM Certified Specialist - XIV Storage System Technical Solutions
• IBM Certified Specialist - Open Systems Storage Solutions
• IBM Certified Specialist - High-End Disk for Open Systems
• IBM Certified Specialist - Storage Networking Solutions

ASSOCIATED SKILL SETS

Candidates must also have two (2) of the preferred skilled sets listed below. Accordingly, candidates not meeting the supporting experiential specifications below will not be considered for the position.
1. Experience implementing and supporting XIV Storage System.
2. Experience with SLES version 10 or higher configuration and administration.
3. Experience with VMWARE ESX version 3.5 or higher configuration and administration
4. Experience with AIX version 5 or higher configuration and administration
5. Experience with Windows Server 2003 or higher configuration and administration.
6. Experience with EMC Networker backup products.
7. Experience with StorageTek or IBM LTO4 tape drives.
